Understanding the Darwin Home Building Process

Once you’ve chosen your allotment and home design, MPZ Builders will then provide you with our best possible quotation. 

Our quote takes into consideration any changes to the schedule of finishes, changes to design, or allotment works that may be required, such as retaining walls, house pads, and excavation of rock.

You have agreed to MPZ Builder’s quotation, what’s next?

A standard Master Builders Association contract is prepared. Your schedule of finishes and final design are combined with the standard Master Builder Contract and are sent to your finance lender (if applicable). Your construction deposit will be required upon signing the contract.

At this stage, MPZ Builders will assist you in acquiring:

●       Building Certification permits

●       Construction Insurance

●       Soil testing report

●       Structural engineering

●       Architectural drawings

●       City council approvals

●       Energy efficiency assessment

What colours? At this stage, we will provide you with colour choice options for the interior and exterior parts of your home.

MPZ Builders will be here to assist you along the way, so don’t stress. We'll discuss with you colours for:

●       Walls and tiles

●       Doors, door frames and window frames

●       Cabinetry

●       Facia and roof

In order to start your build, MPZ Builders will require you to provide proof of settlement on the allotment, to ensure titles are in the name of the owners.

At this stage, the bank will need to give us the green light to start building your new home. MPZ Builders aim for four months from start to finish. This time may vary due to heavy work seasons, special circumstances with allotments, special orders or requests and weather conditions.

On completion of your new home, MPZ Builders will provide you with all the documentation needed in order for your bank to finalise accounts. We will walk through to inspect the property with you at this time to ensure you are happy with all aspects of your home.

Once you’re satisfied with your new home and the bank has carried out a final valuation, MPZ Builders will proudly present you with your keys to your new home.

Considering the length and width of the allotment will determine if the home design you are looking at is suitable.
